Revetment progress: update

It could have been a tranquil scene at 8.15 this morning...cold, clear and no wind...hardly a ripple on the sea   BUT   trucks and  diggers working flat out to meet the deadline in less than two weeks time somewhat spoilt the effect! However, we cannot (or shouldn't) complain about noise and inconvenience, as at least the work is underway.

Having been away for much of the day I was encouraged to see, on my return the depth that the rocks were being placed. Slow progress was being made and the photo below shows the beginning of the curve from the groyne as it heads westwards along the beach frontages.

Bird News

The Kingfisher was fishing of the 'old' harbour wall this morning...I will try for a photo tomorrow!
200 Golden Plover flew from the harbour mudflats out to sea and Knot numbers have increased. No sign of Spoonbill this morning although it was reported from the Church Norton side on Tern Island but out of sight from this side.
