Looked a good morning for migrants so set off with anticipation walking along the shoreline to the Salt House. First up a male Blackcap  near the Lagoon.....
Blackcap (M)

On the mudflats a Curlew....looked great in the early morning light

...but then very little else with Passerines noticeably absent.

On the mud a Cormorant doing what Cormorants do.....

...and then in Whites Creek a Curlew Sandpiper (very distant)

Curlew Sandpiper...very heavily cropped..but still showing some reddish summer plumage
Others reported seeing four Curlew Sands

Little Egret

Y L Gull

A Murder of Magpies...some of the twenty near the Breech Pool.

...but migrants were in short supply...well there's always another day...hopefully.

As a matter of interest I did run into Jim Western who was showing Bob Lord the new and very changed harbour entrance from when he managed the reserve way back in the '80s.
