A fascinating bird and interesting to watch as it sweeps its bill from side to side sifting the water in search of small fish, snails and molluscs.
There were few other unusual birds and many of the waders were hunkered down out of the wind.

|Earlier in the week I had looked for the Cattle Egrets but could only locate this one in the company of a grey Heron and with a few cattle south of Halsey farm.|
