My daily 'permitted' walk along to the North Wall produced very little in the way of migrants or 'new' birds. Chiffchaffs singing along the Slipe field 'dog walk' and a very lonely Brent Goose in Whites Creek.

The three Garganey were still present in the channel behind the sluice gate...initially I could only see the two drakes but the duck was so well camouflaged I overlooked her initially!

Fifteen Cattle Egrets were present in Owl Copse but were disturbed by two dogs and made a hasty retreat very soon after this photograph!

The resident Marsh Harrier made a brief but distant appearance

... a male Reed Bunting was partly hidden in a hawthorn oblivious to my presence.

On my return along Whites Creek the regular Spotted Redshank was showing well

...but eyeing me rather suspiciously as I got too close for comfort!

A very pleasant hour and I was reminded yet again of how fortunate I am to be able to see such a variety of birds on my doorstep, especially in these difficult times!
