This is the letter I received 50 years ago to the day when I first became a member of the R.S.P.B.(I joined VERY young!!) It is fascinating to note their old address and telephone no. and the contents of the letter and I also have the receipt for sum of 10/- (50p) for junior membership for the year (1961)

Although I have not got a photograph ther were 2 Scaup on trhe Lagoon besides a drake Goldeneye and 5 females.I was pleased to see the reappearance of the egret which has been missing for some time!
There was a distinct feeling that Spring can't be too far away.

You picked the right day for some photos .. I visited yesterday with 86 year old father and couldn't find any Egrets but he was delighted to view a few Avocet if a bit distant.
