Hudsonian Whimbrel...a mega twitch!

Having just returned from a three week holiday in Scotland I was greeted with the news that a Hudsonian Whimbrel had been seen in the harbour. National newspapers and both ITV and BBC had featured the bird. It had never been recorded in Sussex before and only about 10 birds had been recorded in the UK.
A dash over to the west side of the harbour and having found the twitchers en masse the bird was eventually located way out on the mudflats.
Record shots only, I am afraid,  so apologies for the quality of these heavily cropped photos.
Nevertheless a life tick!

I shall be busy processing the photos from Scotland next week and will include a few in future blogs...somewhat  few and far between from 3 weeks of rain, wind and a temperature averaging 8c throughout!
