Cuckoo!

Having just returned from a holiday in the Med at the end of last week I was surprised to see a Cuckoo on our bird bath, whilst we were unpacking! At that time the gear was  still packed away but this morning a neighbour asked if I had seen a pair of Cuckoos he had noted in a bush on the beach the previous evening. As I hadn't seen them, but had seen a single bird a few days before, I made sure the camera was ready! Sure enough this afternoon at about 5.30 a Cuckoo landed in a bush in our garden and then dropped to the ground. Despite the rather dirty double glazed window I succeeded in capturing the bird for the few seconds it was present! A 'first' for the garden!
On the bush...before dropping to the ground.

It didn't hang around long and soon made off!................

I am hoping to include a few photos of our birding in Mallorca in the next few days once they have been sorted out!
