A real Autumn morning....sunny and still.

More and more Brent Geese have arrived and several groups were moving around the harbour at low tide.

At least three Meadow Pipits were chasing each other around at the end of the spit

The three Goosanders were firstly noted in the morning near the harbour wall but in the afternoon were swimming up the channel parallel with with the footpath.

A very distant Merlin was seen briefly on Peregrine Island
The highlight was perhaps this Sandwich Tern fishing just in front of the hard standing of the old hide.
I presumed this was a late departing bird but local birder Martin O-W   suggested it could be one of several winter  birds which are seen regularly off the Bill. Who knows!

As ever, always expect the unexpected!
