Pagham Harbour....theres' no place quite like it!

The Squacco Heron was present again today and has created much interest from far and wide.

However there have been plenty of other birds to see around the reserve and I have taken the opportunity of getting out and about using  my new camera.

Cattle Egrets....now a common daily sight.

Curlew, always showing well throughout the harbour.

Whimbrel..there have been several  feeding and are usually quite easy to spot.

Ringed Plover numbers are increasing...here a juvenile

...and an adult

Dunlin...small flocks appearing in various states of plumage

Redshank juvenile along Whites creek

Greenshank by the sluice.

Turnstone in partial summer plumage

Little Egret....looking serene on the spit.

...and in more aggressive mood

Herring gull....immature

Sedge Warbler alongside Breech Pool...now almost completely dry.

A couple of Yellow Wagtails appeared for a couple of days on the Breech pool.

On one morning there were 200+ Sand Martins in the reed bed.

Linnet on dead bramble on Pagham Spit

A few Willow Warblers have been feeding in the bushes

....and this Whinchat was a bit of surprise by the sluice gate this morning.

Nice moon this week, too!
