Pagham Beach in the News....local radio and T.V.

We awoke to a perfect winter morning sunrise....

BUT....we had not realised the Coastguards and Arun Council had been busy in the night fencing off the dangerous beach and monitoring the effects of yet another very high tide.
We joined our neighbours at first light and soon realised more beach had been swallowed up by the sea and the rock revetment was collapsing.
We looked on in disbelief...

...at the effects of the strong overnight tide

Later in the morning a team arrived
and fenced off the area which was deemed dangerous
The deep water channel was now undermining the revetment and rock by rock they were tumbling slowly into the channel. Although not very evident from this photo the haphazard arrangement of the structure can start to be seen.

At high tide the TV cameras arrived and more footage will be shown on local news tomorrow morning.

We are told action will be taken tomorrow to replace the displaced shingle....we have received further assurances that all will be well!!!!

Regretfully no birding today.
